ZERO STOCK-Vintage Hamilton Model 21 Marine Chronometer Clock
SOLD Here is a nice Hamilton Model 21 marine chronometer clock made by well known American company Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster, PA in 1941 for US Navy in World War II. This is referred to as the size 85 and it was the main high precision chronometer clock at the board of the ships. Was used to determine the longitude on the seas. Serial number: 5244.These chronometers had a fusee and a chain used with the mainspring barrel to equalize pressure to the gear train. This is only one of the features Hamilton used in making these Chronometers. Also special hairspring and balance was used in these fabulous timepieces. Well running movement is all original and very clean. The clock is running well and keeps good time. The mahogany case with brass gimbals is in very good shape.
