Scarce example of ultra compact nautical brass telescope with black baleen cover from the middle of the 1800's. The telescope has seven draws and a well engraved signature "R J Beck London". Due to its compact size the device had many users form a boat Capitan or other early explorers. The telescope was professionally refurbished and polished by a fellow collector and is in excellent condition. The device has a sharp image (x20). The brass dust cap was lost over time and the first draw close to the barrel is a bit tight. Dimensions: 29 inches open, 6 inches closed and 40 mm diameter object lens.
