Zero Stock-Antique Pocket Barometer Compass and Thermometer Compendium Made in France
Sold This is an antique pocket barometer altimeter, thermometer and compass weather station used by explorers and travelers from late 1800s until early 1900s. The three separate instruments are functional: the barometer scale goes from 50-80 torr or mm/mercury and the high altitude altimeter scale ranges from 0 to 3000 meters adjusted a knob. The circular thermometer shows the temperature in Reaumur and Centigrade degrees and goes from -10R to 40R and -10C to 50C. The wonderful compass has locking system situated on the side of the case, blue still needle, a red jewel stone silvered brass face with French cardinals. The device is made of nickel covered brass with minimal wear and tear due to the age. The leather, wooden and purple satin box has some wear and tear and missing some leather on the bottom.
