SOLD Featured below is a rare example of genuine sextant used by explorers for navigation on the sea. This is an excellent brass 9 inch radius sextant made by C Plath Hamburg Germany in early 1900’s. The device has most of the parts and accessories in place: a silvered scale divided 0-120, brass index arm with vernier scale (the vernier scale magnifier has a few cracks), tangent-screw with clamp, one sighting telescopes, one green sun shades, one index and one horizon mirror, and a strong wooden handle and a nice wood case. The case has some wear and tear due to the age.
The device will make an excellent addition to your collection of early navigational instruments.
