SOLD Rare example aircraft altimeter used by Aviation Section Signal Corps US Army. in WW1. The altimeter is made by well known scientific instruments maker Taylor Tycos from Rochester New York The dial goes from 0-25000 feet. The outer dial moves to calibrate the device before the flight. The device is encased in a wood box for display. The dial still moves over time and when the altitude changes. Excellent piece of history!!! Diameter of the dial is 88 mm.
