A scarce example of a seven draw silver plated brass monocular telescope from Georgian era signed by Chd. Gottlieb 112 Bunhill Row Finsbury Sq London and most likely made in the first quarter of 1800’s. The small telescope focuses clear and is just 100 mm open and 30 mm closed and 40 mm diameter object lens. The monocular comes in a wonderful Morocco leather, wood and red velvet case.
This type of telescope was a fashion accessory designed to fit in the pocket.
