SOLD.  This is an antique pocket barometer altimeter, thermometer and compass weather station used by explorers and travelers from late 1800s until early 1900s. The Swiss retailer Indle Genevoise D’Optique  signature is present on the barometer face and the logo of the prestigious barometer maker Jules Richard Paris are engraved on the silver dial. The three separate instruments are  functional: the  barometer scale goes from 46-80 torr or mm/mercury and the rotating altimeter scale ranges from zero to 4500 meters adjusted by the rotating bezel and calibrating screw behind the case. The thermometer shows the temperature in Fahrenheit and Centigrade degrees and goes from 0 F to 120 F and -20 C to 50 C. The  wonderful compass has a nice locking knob situated in the middle of the case, blue still needle, a red jewel stone and black and gold face with french cardinals.  The dark brown leather covered rare aluminum case is in excellent condition with the functional locking system.
The condition of this item is excellent. Considering it was a mobile device, the leather exterior is scuffed in few places and the burgundy velvet was restored over time and the thermometer shows temperature less than the average.

Dimensions: 110 mm X 78 mm X 25 mm when closed.

This wonderful device will make a exquisite addition to your collection.
