SOLD Good example of a Bosun's whistle or boatswain call pipe made of sterling sliver most likely in late 1900th century.
The boatswain's call was used to send commands to the boat crew when the voice could not be heard over the sounds of the sea. Because of its high pitch, it could be heard over bad weather.
Excellent condition for the age. Length: 5 1/2 inches.
