This excellent example anemometer or medium speed air meter was made by well know scientific instruments maker Short & Mason  from London and was used to measure the velocity of the air currents in mines, tunnels, public buildings, etc. The device is made of brass and aluminium and has a nice silvered dial with fourth scales. On the side of the dial there are two  on-and-off and re setting buttons for dials.  Dimensions: the diameter of the dial is 60 mm and the wind propeller's diameter is 70 mm and the leather case is 100 mm X 80 mm X 80 mm. This item has a detachable screw-in connector. The original leather case is in excellent condition, also comes with a correction card for calibration and burgundy velvet liner.  The anemometer is still in functioning state
