Featured below is a good example of a nice brass and boxwood mapping table Alidade made by well known instruments maker Secretan A Paris in late 1800’s early 1900’s. The device was used by surveyors, explorers, map makers and army for calculating angles and distances together with a mapping table or a tripod. The device has two silvered brass vanes, leveling bubble and a 9 inch ruler. Dimensions: 9” L X 1 1/2 W X 7” H inches.
