Scarce example compass sundial made most likely in Bavaria Germany in the first quarter of 19 century. The device has a uniquely painted floating paper face with hour dials, brass hour gnomon, silver color crown bezel, original domed glass. The body of the sundial is made of fruit wood with a nice patina. The condition of the sundial is excellent , the top of the wooden case has a crack due to the aging wood. The dimensions of the sundial case is: 56 mm diameter and 44 mm height.
