A scarce example of impressive 8 draw brass telescope most likely made In England in the first quarter of 1800s. The telescope focuses clear from the second draw following the eye piece. Has a nice combination brass draws and a Morocco leather cover. The telescope has some wear and tear due to the age, a small portion of the Morocco leather is missing and two of the draw rings close to the object lens have some damage. Dimensions: 28 inch span when opened and 5 inch when closed and 45 mm object lens.
The telescope comes with a aftermarket wood display. Due to its compact size the device had many users, from the boat captain, cavalry officer or early explorer.
