SOLD- Excellent example of quality mid 19th century Carriage Officers Mantle Bell Striking 14 Days Clock. This is a bell strike pendulum carriage clock, fitted in a wonderful mahogany case with inlaid marquetry, featuring a large enamel dial with black Roman numerals and minute track. The clock has a good quality silk suspension pendulum movement with bell striking, and strikes once every half hour and the number of hours on the hour. The mahogany case shows age related marks, otherwise well preserved, with a lovely patina. Dial is in good condition with a couple of hairlines cracks in the lower section (please check out the detailed pictures). Breguet hands are in good condition.
Front lid is pulled up for dial access where you wind and set the time. The back door case has a small damage near the locking system. The movement is engraved with maker signature (Stein Paris) and iit was recently serviced and cleaned by the local master clock maker.
Dimensions: 10 inch tall (handle up) x 6 1/4 inch wide x 4 1/2 inch deep.
