Excellent antique pocket compass made of turned fruit wood or boxwood. This type of compass was customary made in central Europe and England, this one in particular most likely British made estimated between 1700s through mid 1800s. Signature and date (1836) of one of the owner or maker on the back of the case. Each device is unique in his own way due to the printed paper dial and custom hand painted compass rose. The condition of the compass is excellent  with a few small chips on the glass. The compass measures: 51 mm diameter and 20 mm height
