SOLD. Excellent example of early aviation anemometer made by Jules Richard Paris in early 1900’s. The early Pioneers in aviation used this type of handheld anemometers to calculate the average wind speed during a fixed period of time. The anemometer body is made of nickel-plated brass, an aluminum windmill coupled with a speedometer with a silvered dial. Usual this device was used together with a chronometer for accurate measurements. The wind vane can be engaged by a leveled arm at the side of the propeller and is in good working order. Comes in a leather covered case with some minimal wear and tear. A couple of small accessories were lost over time. Dimensions: 9 inches length and 3 ¾ diameter. The case measures 11 x 4 x 3 inches.
