SOLD -Featured below is a rare example of genuine sextant used by explorers for navigation on the sea.This is an excellent brass 9 inch radius sextant most likely made England in the last quarter of 1800's. The device has most of the parts in place: a silvered scale divided 0-160, brass index arm with vernier scale and magnifying glass, tangent-screw with  clamp, two sighting telescopes, one with a pinhole sight and one with two lenses and a red filer, four sun shades, three horizon shades, one index and one horizon mirror, and a strong wooden handle and a nice mahogany case. The case has some wear and tear due to the a age the third sight telescope is missing. The device will make an excellent addition to your collection of early navigational instruments.
