Below is a fine example silvered brass equinoctial sundial made in France in early 1800’s. The device features include: an hour scale with 15 minutes divisions and engravings of several latitudes of European cities, a delicate spring loaded gnomon, a foldable latitude arc with divisions from 0-60 degrees, mahogany base plate with two wonderful brass locks. The condition of this sundial is very good with some wear and tear due to age. Dimensions (of dial): 100mm diameter and the mahogany case is 120mm x 120mm x 30mm. This sundial makes a very nice addition to your collection of early navigation or time keeping instruments.
