This pocket Omnimeter compendium made by Eugene Dietzgen Chicago in early 1900's combines a compass, clinometer, hand level, alidade, contact level, therefore will indicate magnetic bearings, azimuth angles, altitudes, levels and slopes. The combination is arranged in a rectangular aluminum frame. The 50mm diameter compass has a nice silvered dial with a magnetic needle who seats on agate stone center, also the compass card can be adjusted for magnetic declination by rotating the bottom. The 50 mm diameter Mining Clinometer is a pendulum disc type and has the dial activated by squeezing side spring. The the hand level can be found attached on the long side of the frame and the spirit bubble is visible looking through the side peep hole. Two folding vanes for indicating azimuth angles are present in the frame. Dimensions: 140 mm L x 76 mm W x 15 mm t or 5" 3/8 x 3" x 5/8". The device comes in an nice original leather pouch (the pouch is missing a small peace on the top). The condition of the device is excellent with minimal wear and tear due to the age.
