Excellent example of an antique 5 draw silver plate and brass draw monocular most likely made in England in early 1800’s. The monocular is a Galilean style telescope with a 10 mm eye piece and 26 mm object lens. The monocular is clear and has 2X power. The condition is excellent for age. In the past the monocular most likely had a leather cover, however the brass draw has a wonderful patina. Dimensions: 26 mm closed and 80 mm opened.
This type of telescope was a fashion accessory designed to fit in the pocket.
