Scarce example of a floating card compass made by well known American maker John Bliss & Co New York in the last half of 19th century. It is a small version of the nautical compasses used by sailors on a small vessel. This particular piece has a heavy brass case with nice patina and wonderful paper floating card. Dimensions: 70 mm diameter and 35 mm height.
