SOLD Scarce example of vintage battery operated wood toy depicting Battleship Bismack Made in Japan after WW2. This wooden toys were highly regarded by the American soldiers stationed in Japan after the WW2 War. This wooden battleships are the coolest looking and the most sought after of the wooden handcrafted toys from that era. The toy was build about 75 years ago of wood, has 2 small electric motors (looks like some refurbishing was done to the motors and wires) one original electric switch , 4 out of 6 working lights, twin propellers, moving deck cannons many detailed metal fittings and stanchions. The original burgundy and light blue paint is in excellent condition with minor crakes and scratches due to the age. Some minimal touch up of the paint was done over the years, and bit of missing paint on the front hull. The electric engines is still working well and and can be started by switching the switch situated in the rear of the boat. A cool feature, a knob situated near the front gun moves one of the anchors (the second one is dethatched from the winch). Amazingly the delicate wire and simple electrical circuit under the deck still works. Dimensions : 33 inches x 4.75 inches x 9 inches in height.
Excellent display item or restoration project!!!
